Environics' Public Affairs practice offers clients access to a diverse selection of syndicated research tools that offer subscribers cost-effective opportunities to conduct new research or access to valuable tracking data that can be used for strategic insight.
Canadian Environmental Barometer
The Canadian Environmental Barometer is a quarterly syndicated public opinion research service, launched in 2007 to provide organizations in the public, private and non-profit sectors with an ongoing indicator of public opinion on the environment and climate change. Each quarter, the Environmental Barometer surveys a representative sample of 2,000 Canadians by telephone to provide a sensitive and dynamic measure of public opinion (at the national and provincial levels) as it evolves over time in response to climate events, government initiatives, political activities and economic conditions.
The research incorporates a core set of public opinion "indicators" that measure key aspects of public opinion on this topic, encompassing awareness and salience of the issues, in the context of other issues, degree of personal concern, assessment of performance by governments (federal and provincial), industry and consumers, and the need for government intervention. Subscribers receive detailed analytical reports and in-depth briefings, as well as the opportunity to commission dedicated omnibus questions for addressing their own issues of particular importance.

Focus GTA
Focus GTA is a semi-annual syndicated research service (spring and fall) which provides public, private and non-profit sectors with ongoing intelligence and insight about GTA public opinion on the key issues facing municipalities and the region overall. This ongoing research program (dating back to the 1980s) provides unique insights into historic and current trends that places the latest findings in an invaluable context.
Each wave (conducted in spring and fall) is based on telephone surveys with representative samples of 1,000 GTA residents, and provides valid results by municipality, region and the GTA overall. Subscribers receive a detailed analytical report, and access to in-person briefings and commissioning dedicated omnibus questions for addressing their own issues of particular importance.
Focus Alberta
Focus Alberta is an ongoing public affairs survey conducted several times a year, covering current political, social and economic issues around the province. Each survey is based on telephone interviews with a representative sample of 1,000 adult Albertans, including valid results for Calgary, Edmonton, the smaller cities around the province, as well as three main rural regions (North, Central, South).
Clients are invited to commission their own proprietary questions on any wave. Since 1994, Focus Alberta has been the largest omnibus survey in the Alberta market, providing the most comprehensive coverage available.
