Environics’ syndicated study, Financial Services among South Asian and Chinese New Canadians, is a simple solution for financial institutions wanting key performance measures and timely insights into these two largest and fastest growing new Canadian groups, South Asian and Chinese Canadians.

The study is conducted annually using an online survey with 1,200 first-generation South Asian and Chinese new Canadians. We set quotas to ensure that our sample sizes are large enough to let us dive deep, examining variations by tenure in Canada and by region.

The survey covers:

• Attitudes toward banking, credit card rewards and investing, and outlook on the economic situation
• Ownership and market penetration of financial institutions for banking, investing, insurance and credit card
• Satisfaction with current primary financial institution for banking
• A special focus on recent immigrants (0-3 years) and their first bank dynamics
• Awareness and perceptions of key financial institutions in Canada and in their home country
• Key demographic characteristics
